About MyJapaUK
Moving to the UK comes with a long list of admin nobody warns you about — working out remittance rates, running an ajo circle with people you trust, prepping for a licensing exam, figuring out whether your Nigerian driving licence is worth anything here. MyJapaUK exists because that admin is scattered across a dozen forums, WhatsApp groups, and government pages, and it shouldn't be.
We're building one place for it: calculators and checklists for the everyday questions, tools for money and savings circles, and a directory of the tools grouped the way you'd actually go looking for them — not buried in a generic menu.
What we are
A software product, built by and for people who've made the move themselves. Free tools stay free — the remittance comparator, guides, and community access cost nothing, always. Some tools (like full exam question banks) sit behind a paid tier because building and maintaining them properly costs real money.
What we're not
We are not OISC-registered and don't give immigration advice — where regulation requires a licensed adviser, we point you to one instead of pretending to be one. We're not a bank or payment provider: ajo/esusu circles on MyJapaUK are coordination tools only — contributions move directly between members, and we never collect, hold, or touch anyone's money. We're not a certified document custodian — the document vault is for your own quick reference copies, never your only copy of an original.
Where we are
Early. We're building this in the open and adding tools one at a time rather than promising everything at once. If something's missing or wrong, tell us.
